I believe that people experience a wave of emotions and thoughts when someone they know and love begins traveling, the dementia journey.

So many questions and concerns begin to arise, and many people have no idea where to begin to find answers. People become overwhelmed, frustrated, and scared. Caregivers become so focused on caring for the person with dementia they forget to care for themselves.

At some point in the journey tough decisions may need to be made. Families become paralyzed because they do not want to make the wrong decision. They do the best they can, given the circumstances, as they slowly watch

the person they love fade away. It is absolutely heart wrenching.

I believe that by providing a solid path for families built on information and education, it can help make the dementia journey an easier one. Silver Tsunami Aging Info was founded to provide families with a guide on how to travel this dementia journey. I recognize that this journey is difficult for everyone, and the support and guidance needed will vary from person to person. I want families to have the information they need that will help guide them while on this difficult path.

I believe at times a caregiver becomes stuck and needs special assistance to get through the current challenge. I want the Silver Tsunami members to have access to me to be able to unite with when they need extra support.
